In October 2018, local people from Port Lincoln and the Lower Eyre Peninsula came together to discuss Steiner education, and started gathering information about the process involved in applying for registration for a school. RDAWEP has been instrumental in assisting the working party formalise their arrangements by providing assistance with the creation of a sound business and strategic plan, assisted the group with appointing positions to the board, as well as offering governance training and advice. The School is now an Incorporated Association and has applied for charity status with the ACNC.

There are approximately 60 Steiner schools in Australia and more than 1200 worldwide. Steiner education has a strong focus on play and creative arts-based learning, and nature play is a big part of the curriculum. The working committee anticipate that the school would help attract new families to the region as well as provide a small number of employment opportunities.

Playgroup sessions are commencing in Term 4 2019 and the board are working busily on their registration application for a school.
