Grain Producers SA has kicked off the development of a 2020-2030 Grain Industry Blueprint after the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development, Tim Whetstone announced that $140,000 would be provided by the SA Government to support the project.
The Blueprint will provide a strategic framework to enable long-term planning and inform private and public grain industry investment decisions.
Over 80 industry stakeholders participated in a scoping workshop at Adelaide University’s Waite Campus to discuss the six initial pillars of the Blueprint – value-adding, market demand, on-farm innovation, building industry capacity, infrastructure investment, and biosecurity and quality assurance.
Growers are invited to a series of regional consultation meetings to provide feedback and insight on the development of the Grain Industry Blueprint. Workshops on Eyre Peninsula will be held at:
- Cummins: Tuesday 30 July at 12pm, Cummins Bowls Club.
- Minnipa: Wednesday 31 July at 1:45pm, Minnipa Ag Centre.
- Cleve: Thursday 1 August at 1:45pm, Cleve District Hall.
The meetings will also review the CFS harvest and stubble burning codes of practice. Please register your attendance to the meetings here.
More information on the Blueprint is available on GPSA’s website.
