The State Government is inviting applications for the second $5 million competitive funding round of the Regional Growth Fund.

The fund, part of the Recharging our Regions policy, is designed to facilitate new economic opportunities to build and strengthen communities across regional South Australia.

“The Regional Growth Fund is a 10 year commitment offering $15 million in grants annually to support projects which unlock new economic activity in our regions, create jobs, grow export opportunities and strengthen regional communities,” said Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Tim Whetstone.

“Success projects will be those that deliver a tangible benefit to regional South Australia, such as new or improved capital works, infrastructure, facilities and similar investments.  We are again seeking projects that foster collaboration and will result in wider community and industry benefits.

“I look forward to seeing the range of projects put forward to make a real difference in our regional towns and communities.”

Round One of the program was a huge success with projects being funded in regions all across the State.

Applicants can seek grants from $50,000 up to $2 million, with projects to be located within South Australia with outcomes and benefits for regional South Australia.

Projects should foster collaboration and demonstrate a commitment to local employment, and purchase local supplies wherever possible.

Applications to the Regional Growth Fund will be accepted from local government bodies, incorporated associations and business clusters.

Applications for Round 2 close on Friday 9 August 2019.
