The City of Port Lincoln has appointed Stephen Rufus as its new Chief Executive Officer following the announced retirement of current CEO Rob Donaldson in November.

Mr Rufus has an impressive career background in regional local government and healthcare management, most recently with the District Council of Orroroo-Carrieton.

Mayor Bruce Green said “We had a strong response to our recruitment for the role and after narrowing down to an interview list, our Panel and the whole Council were pleased to appoint Stephen to this key role for Council. We are sure he will offer strong leadership and help us to keep the Council delivering what the community needs and in a sound financial position”.

Mr Rufus said “I am looking forward to commencing the role of Chief Executive Officer at the City of Port Lincoln and working with the Mayor, Councillors, staff and the community in the effective and efficient delivery of services and projects, and development of strategies and solutions to ensure future challenges are met with a strategic focus. My partner Kim Wilson and I are looking forward to being involved in the community and experiencing the lifestyle that Port Lincoln and the Eyre Peninsula region has to offer”, Mr Rufus concluded.

“I look forward to welcoming Stephen to Port Lincoln and working with him on our key projects and new challenges”, added Mayor Green.

It is expected that Mr Rufus will officially start in the role in early January 2018, after he completes his commitments at Orroroo-Carrieton.
