Eyre Peninsula and Coffin Bay has landed squarely on the national and international stage for foodies.

Regional Development Australia has hounded, nagged and harassed Tasting Australia to stage an event in their Festival’s program right here on the Eyre Peninsula.  In 2018, this will happen on 14 April in Coffin Bay.  You can find out more about the event HERE.

In scouting possible locations, Eyre Peninsula showcased itself to Tasting Australia.  The crew were so enamoured, they decided on Friday 2nd February to launch the entire 2018 Tasting Australia Festival Program from the Eyre Peninsula.

Festival Creative Director and chef, Simon Bryant; Nick Stock, wine aficionado; and Adelaide’s Africola Restaurant chef, Duncan Welgemoed hosted an entourage of food, wine and travel journalists from around Australia for lunch at the Coffin Bay Yacht Club supported by our local ambassadors Jason Stephenson (Boston Bay Smallgoods) and Gavin Myers (Myers Seafoods).  Following lunch, the visitors hopped onto an oyster punt to visit an operating oyster lease with Chris Hank from Pure Coffin Bay Oysters.  Thanks to the variety of local businesses that also assisted in pulling this off.

For 10 days Tasting Australia is your passport to the premium, unprecedented eating and drinking experiences that only South Australia can offer.

Spread the word and let’s make our Eyre Peninsula event the one to remember.
