Suicide prevention: Question Persuade Refer (QPR) training

Country SA PHN is providing QPR training to approximately 1,000 community members within the National Suicide Prevention Trial region which includes Port Lincoln and Whyalla and the towns in between.  QPR is designed to provide everyday people with three simple steps to help save a life from suicide.
“Regional areas traditionally have higher rates of suicide and that’s a statistic we want to change but, importantly, we also want regional communities to feel empowered to be a part of that change,” Country SA PHN Chief Executive Kim Hosking said.
“It takes less than an hour to complete and we’re encouraging all members of the community to consider doing it – you never know, it could help you save a life one day.”
