Local and international startups with game-changing ideas can now apply for Bridge to MassChallenge Australia.
In partnership with the State Government, Bridge to MassChallenge Australia will select 15 startups to participate in an intensive, four-day boot camp in Adelaide to be held from 4-7 December and will culminate in a pitch competition. The top five teams will win a trip to Boston, USA an participate in a week-long boot camp at the MassChallenge headquarters in June 2018.
There is no fee to participate and no equity taken.
This year, Microsoft will provide scholarships for up to five Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-founded startups to take part in the Adelaide MassChallenge bootcamp.
Applications close Wednesday, 8 November, so hurry.

ABC creates more opportunities for Australians with the launch of three Rural Traineeships

The ABC has launched its Rural Traineeship initiative, providing three budding reporters with the opportunity to develop their journalism skills and knowledge of the agricultural industry in rural Australia.
The Director of ABC Regional, Fiona Reynolds, said that the Rural Traineeships enable content makers and storytellers to kick-start their career by working with the ABC’s highly regarded Rural team.

Applications for the Rural Traineeship are open from 20 October to 5 November 2017.
Applicants will need to have a strong interest in rural and regional affairs, good writing skills and be able and willing to travel.  The traineeship is expected to commence in mid-January 2018.

  • Visual Merchandising

  • Microchipping
    In 2016 the SA Government passed a bill that requires all cats and dogs in SA to be microchipped from 1 July 2018 onwards.  After completion of this course you will receive accreditation as a registered implanter recognised by the Dog and Cat Management Board.
    Cost:  This training is heavily subsidised for eligible residents of small regional communities in South Australia.  Conditions and a $30 co-contribution apply.

  • Provide First Aid and Provide CPR
    Provide First Aid is a comprehensive first aid course suitable for everyday emergency situations.  This qualification meets the requirement, set out in the Code of Practice, for a Senior First Aider.  Our students are trained by current Paramedics and Registered Nurses who continue to work in their industries.  This gives our students the advantage of learning from health professionals who have current experience in dealing with emergency situations.

  • Essential Business Skills for Business Owners and Employees
    TAFE SA is offering a 3 hour workshop.  Two sessions availabel 9:30am – 12:30pm OR 6 – 9pm.  This workshop provides participants with skills to manage your business effectively including minimising business tax obligations, using innovative digital and social media marketing campaigns, and complying with business obligations.
