Regional Development Australia Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula (RDAWEP) is pleased to announce the appointment of new Deputy Chair of the RDAWEP Board Mr Malcolm Catt, who will support Chair Bryan Trigg in leading a dedicated, committed and regional focused group of community leaders.

Mr Catt was a Board Member of the previous Eyre Regional Development Board for 6 years and has been an active Board Member of RDAWEP for the past seven years. Malcolm was also appointed as an Executive Committee Member of RDAWEP at the Board meeting held in March 2012.

He has lived in Port Lincoln since 1977 and was a Councillor of the City of Port Lincoln from 2001 until 2014.
A Graduate of Adelaide University (Science) and SAIT (Business Administration), he has formerly worked as a Research and Consultant Agronomist, and was Chief Pilot/owner of Lincoln Airlines (1987-1997), and Lincoln Air Charter until 2015.

Malcolm was officially appointed Deputy Chair of RDAWEP by Australian Government Minister for Regional Development Senator Fiona Nash in consultation with the South Australian Government Minister for Regional Development Geoff Brock and the President of LGA SA, Mayor Lorraine Rosenberg.

Chair Bryan Trigg stated that he was very pleased that Mr Catt has been assigned to the position of Deputy Chair to achieve the positive outcomes for the region. “I look forward to working with Malcolm as his commitment and passion will greatly assist in achieving positive outcomes for the region. I also wish to sincerely thank the other Board Members who applied for the position.” Chair Bryan Trigg added. Mr Dion Dorward, RDAWEP Chief Executive Officer, congratulated Mr Catt on his appointment, commenting that ‘I have every confidence Mr Catt will provide excellent support to the Chair of the RDAWEP Board to ensure the organisation continues to provide exceptional economic development services for the Eyre Peninsula region.’ Mr Dorward added that Malcolm’s substantial experience and knowledge of regional issues will add value to his role as Deputy Chair.

Mr Catt said it was an honour to work with the RDAWEP Board and staff members to ensure regional economic development received the priority it deserved in Federal, State and Local Government initiatives.
