Annually, the South Australian Government nominates approximately 2,400 skilled migrants for a State nominated visa, with the ultimate visa granted by the Australian Government.

The State has the ability to nominate skilled migrants in any of the 427 occupations.

The Department of State Development is seeking industry feedback regarding known skills shortages or surpluses in order to inform the main list of skilled occupations available for State-nominated skilled migration in 2018-19.

Feedback from your organisation is purely optional and is sought by 6 April 2018.

Annually, the Department of State Development undertakes detailed quantitative labour force analysis to indicate occupations in which current or longer-term skills shortages could benefit from migration.  This informs the State-Nominated Occupation List (SNOL), which is the main list of occupations targeted for State nomination of skilled migrants.

Those occupations currently listed as “Special Conditions Apply” on the State’s Supplementary Skilled List are mostly only available to onshore applicants already working in South Australia.

As part of the process for developing the SNOL, your organisation is invited to provide input regarding known skills shortages or surpluses in those skilled occupations in which your organisation has an interest.  Please note that the State can only nominate migrants in the occupations listed.
