Community halls in regional towns play an important role in keeping regional communities together and now it is time to shine the spotlight on and celebrate them with ‘Home Is Where the Hall Is’.

Registrations are now open in South Australia for the opportunity to join a national project shining a light on the heart of all regional towns, the community hall.

A safe haven in a crisis or a place where families celebrate together, ‘Home Is Where the Hall Is’, which is taking place throughout November 2017, celebrates the diversity and vital role local halls play in keeping regional communities together.

This is the third year that  ‘Home Is Where the Hall Is’ will be rolled out in South Australia, as Country Arts SA partners again with Regional Arts Victoria, to provide regional communities with an opportunity to join together to celebrate their town’s engagement with their local community hall.

Just think of an event to run at a hall, it does not have to be arty.
Diverse and creative community events are encouraged, from tea parties to art exhibitions and film screenings to creative gardening and bake-offs, all ideas are welcome.

Visit the ‘Home Is Where the Hall Is’ website for registration information and to view the projects from previous years.

Registrations will be accepted right up until the end of November.
